Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions about PDR:

A: PDR is the process of removing minor dents and creases from your vehicle without the expense and inconvenience of panel and paint repair. PDR is basically the manipulation of the repair with calculated pushes using specialised tools until the dent or crease is removed and the panel is restored back to its original condition and shape.

A: Not long at all. The average Dent Magician PDR repair will take approximately 30 minutes. Our service is mobile, so we are able to repair your vehicle at your home or place of work which means you’re only without your vehicle for a short time and only when it is convenient for you.

Q: Why should I use Dent Magician PDR instead of conventional panel and paint repair?

A: Apart from the inconvenience of your vehicle being in a panel shop for days, one of the main benefits is that your vehicle will remain in the original factory finish which will help your vehicle maintain its value. Another major advantage in using Dent Magician is in the price. Q: How large a dent or crease does the Dent Magician PDR process repair?

A: We usually talk about fixing small dents, but it is not so much on the size of the dent or crease that will determine the quality of the repair, it is the depth. As a general rule we state that we repair up to about the circumference of a coffee cup. Q: I have heard that some PDR companies drill the panels to make access to the repair, does Dent Magician?

A: No, we won’t drill the panel if we can help it. At Dent Magician we pride ourselves in leaving the car in better condition than we found it and drilling holes in your vehicle does not achieve this.

Q: How much can I expect to save using the Dent Magician Paintless Dent Removal system?

A: There are many variables when pricing a repair such as the depth and size of the dent. After careful consideration in wanting to give our customers the best value for money we opted to charge on a “per panel” not a “per dent” basis. Generally we are approximately a third of the cost of conventional panel and painting, without the inconvenience. As mentioned, we must point out that there may, on the odd occasion, be a slightly higher cost if the panel is extremely damaged. Here are the characteristics to look out for to identify whether PDR will be able to repair your vehicle damage:

    Dent is not too deep (vehicle’s metal hasn’t stretched too much on impact. It is not about how big, but how deep the dent is that really makes the difference)

    Vehicle’s paint is not broken or cracked (we can repair a dent where the paint has been damaged but the scratch will still be there).

    The dent is not on the edge of a panel.

    The vehicle’s panel has not had previous body filer in the vicinity of the dent.
